Tuesday. To Absea Club celebration with Dr. Smith and Mr. Sandys. Pleasant trip. Dr. Motte Smith - Commissioner of the Sandwich Islands and Mr. Sandy came up from New Orleans on the 8:20 P.M. train.
Wednesday. Wrote Nanny with Dr. Lefebore's letter about continuing Dr. Cherry as the children's dentist - begging her to consult Mr. Beirne on the subject.
Friday. Wrote Gelpi and Brothers for whiskey and sherry.
Saturday. Mr. Beirne came up from New Orleans on 7:40 train to look at crops.
Sunday. Drove over crops of all five places with Mr. Beirne. He was much pleased - especially with Riverton crop, which we both thought the best on the whole. Mr. Beirne returned to New Orleans on 4:34 train.
