For the week of March 31, 1885

Tuesday.  Wrote Madison with $7 for Volume XVIII Encyclopedia Britannica.  Went to New Orleans with Aunt Nanny, Sue Mae, Sally and Sarabel on 4:00 train.  Aunt Nanny and Sue Mae left for Huntsville on 8:20 train.
Wednesday.  Went to Exposition with Sally and Sarabel.  Sally felt so badly on return we had to get out of street car and go into a house.  But she was well enough to leave for Charleston with Sarabel on 8:20 train.
Thursday.  Went to office.  Talked with Major Dunn.  To Mr. Gilmore's office.  He very strongly advised not to sue Mr. Kenner and not to pay D. & B. in full balance of fee due them - but rather let them sue.  But thinks it better to compromise with Mr. Kenner on the basis he proposes as Mr. Beirne might be case in suite against his and subjected to greater expense.  Returned home on 4:20 train.
