Clear - cool - delightful. Wrote Mr. Chiapella for kerosene and Hathrorne Water. Told him that the last kerosene was so bad - and smoked so - we had to send it to the store to sell.
Dined at the Koch's - 24 miles going and returning - but roads being in unusually good order we made the trip easily and pleasantly, leaving here a little after 11:00 a.m. and getting back (moon-light) between 7 & 8 p.m. Pleasant time. Nice dinner. Good soup - red snapper - snips and turkey - salad - claret - port - dessert - strawberries. They will have 5 roller mills and are sure it will pay from McCall's experience.
