July 27, 1884, Sunday

Cloudy, sultry.  Went to Absea Club.  Talked with Mr. Henson and Mr. R. McCall about reducing wages of hands, to 65 cents per day without rations and 90 cents at grinding.  Mr. McCall to see Mr. Kenner about it and if he joins in I will, for Mr. Beirne.  Am to meet him and Mr. Henry McCall at Club on the 30th.
