Cloudy, threatening.  Saw Mr. Breaux about pond.  He will clean it out with plantation hands as well as he can.  I cannot agree to give Pat Reddington $600 for doing it. 


Wrote Scribner and Walford not to send books until I write for them (say end of September) and to try and get "Poetry of the Anti-Jacobin" for me.
