Clear, cool, delightful.  Went along levee, saw all the managers.  They seem easy, river fell 1/2 inch last night, but this indicates nothing, wind often makes this difference.  Called on Miss Tureauds and Mrs. Bringue.
Wrote Villere with cheque for $44.25 for whiskey and sherry and told him $7.50 per gallon for sherry was pretty high, as hitherto I have never paid him over $6.
