Rainy, gloomy, damp and disagreeable. Did not go out. Wrote Hyrich with cheque for $7 for stationery. Sent Mrs. B.H. Rutledge copies of sonnets, one on Miss Matilda Middleton and one on Miss Sally Middleton. These were written about 1854. I promised Mrs. Rutledge to give her copies the night of St. Cecelia Ball (Jan. 15th).
