March 11, 1883, Tuesday

Clear, high winds.  River rough, rose about 1 inch since last night.  Now a little less than a foot below the high water mark of last year.
Went with Mr. Tucker and inspected a weak place in Clark front levee. He is making it secure.  Went along Kelly's levee.  Met Dr. Love, he thinks it all safe.
Repairing levee, weakened by high winds and rough water.  Some weak spots in front of Clark and Conway and Orange Grove.  Worked at it at Clark until 12 last night.
