Cooler, pleasant. Church service by Mr. Matlach and sermon by Mr. Hawes, Lutheran, formerly of South Carolina now of Pennsylvania. A good sermon, and well delivered.
Wrote Miss de Poaincay, in compliance with my promise, that I had determined not to employ a governess for the children. Wrote Miss Huger to same effect.
