Clear - pleasant.  Sixty one years old.  "Lord teach me so to number my days that I may apply my heart unto wisdom."
Went over crops at Armant and St. James.  Crop at former has improved somewhat, at latter greatly.  Corn and peas poor generally, except some 75 acres on St. John which is fine.
Left on 3:00 P.M. train.  Train ran off track some 3 miles from Donaldsonville and I walked there.  Very hot and I was greatly fatigued.
