June 27, 1883, Wednesday

Clear, not so warm.  Went to Riverton, talked with Mr. Jordan, who returned yesterday somewhat drunk, from New Orleans and was disposed to "cut up" about our putting his brick layers at building columns for floor in sugar house.  He is very quiet and conciliatory today and we will have no trouble with him.  He has a fever again along with two of his sons and one of his workmen.  Great deal of malaria fever about.
Sent Dr. Love cheque for $25 as my subs to "Charity Hospital Fund".
