Aptil 21, 1883, Saturday

Cloudy. Went to Riverton and Donaldson. Applying meal at latter. Fall plant at Riverton not showing as good a stand as I hoped. It will be gappy. They are planting corn in gaps. Saw Mr. Turner about molasses and sugar. He has sent off all his molasses and all the hot room and cistern bottoms sugar. He will need some brick to fix up Clark sugar house.

Captain Hardwick came with flat boat of corn. He has delivered 1600 bushels to New Hope. Wrote Mr. William Carige - Baton Rouge - asking what he could deliver brick for at these plantations.
