Cloudy. Went to Donaldsonville to try and get brick for work at Riverton. None to be had. Went to the Ascension Democrat office and to the Court House where I heard two of the counsel in the church case, on a mere preliminary motion.
Wrote Mr.Beirne telling him there was no brick to be had in Donaldsonville and inquiring if he did not propose shipping all the molasses from here. River falling steadily, 3 inches in the last 24 hours. Now about 10 inches below highest mark of last year.
