Clear - cloudy - mild.  Visited Riverton, Donaldson, Clark and Conway and communicated Mr. Beirne's instructions about planting as much corn as possible and attending in time to levees.  The Riverton levee is the only one that requires work.  The boat with corn has not yet arrived.  Hope the Orange Grove corn will hold out in supplying all five places until new corn comes.  Riverton finished planting today.
Wrote Mr. Beirne (in reply) about planting every acre possible in corn and attending in time to levees.  Communicated his instructions to overseers.
Wrote Anna Parker in reply to her letter thanking me for Mardi Gras programmes and pictures.  Wrote Houghton, Mifflin and Company, Boston, for 2 books on drawing and painting and charcoal sketching for Sally and enclosing $3.00 - the price.
