Cloudy - windy - cold.  Went to corn boat (dropped down to Riverton) and saw measurements and weighing of 6 bbls. of corn.  They averaged 58-3/4 lbs. but we all agreed to call the weight of a bbl. of shelled corn 57 lbs.  If the bbl. is 1-3/4 bbl. 58 lbs. is the just weight.  Saw Mr. Lawless about corn and levees - also Mosier, who has nearly completed driving piles in front of Orange Grove levee.
Wrote Mr. Beirne (in reply) about corn.  Wrote Linda in reply.
