November 27, 1883, Tuesday

Clear, cold.  Solomon says a slight frost, but no one else saw it.  Thermometer only 46.
Mr. Breaux of Conway says he made 50,000 lbs. last week from 13 acres.  He is convinced however that Orange Grove does not credit him with all the sugar to which he is entitled and strongly asserts his belief that Mr. Lawless cheats him with the object of making a larger show for Orange Grove.  I don't believe it.
Wrote Mr. Villiere for whiskey.  Wrote Mr. Chiapella that Mr. Beirne had better see Captain Grant of M.V.R.R. about pond and ramps they engaged to make.
