October 10, 1883, Wednesday

Very warm.  Dust awful.  Went to Clark where they commenced grinding this morning.  Two tugs pumping water to Donaldson and Conway at $7.50 & $8.00 per hour.  Wrote McMillan & Co. sending cheque for $1.50 for English Illustrated Magazine.
Wrote Miss Leila Barnwell begging her to have my last report to the trustees copies by a good copyist and to send me the bill.
Sent a copies of my addresses to Mr. and Mrs. Banister.  Water from tugs has got to pond at Donaldson and to canal at Conway.
