August 10, 1883, Friday

Cloudy.  Went to Riverton, no brick yet.  Will have to stop work today.  Went to Clark.
Wrote Mr. Chiapella acknowledging receipt of his note and of Mr. Gilmore's.  Wrote Mr. Mosier asking when he could let us have brick at Riverton.
Some 4 acres of stubble (overflowed in 1852 and left as an experiment by Mr. Bateman) are remarkably good, while all the stubble at Donaldson and Clark that was overflowed is very poor.
