Clear - warm. Settled weather apparently, at last. Went to New Hope and Ascension plantations. Crops on both fine and very uniform. Mr. Turcuit and his wife both sick in last few days with fever. I would have thought them exempt, as being native and to the manner born. But he says everybody is liable to take it during the summer and fall and that in the fall many people die of it.
