Slight rain - cleared off. Went to Orange Grove and talked with Mr. Hoffman about boilers. He thinks new boilers necessary and that we had better have 5 at least.
Mr. Chiapella came about 1:00 p.m. on the Belle of the Coast from lower places. Went with him and Mr. Hoffman to the Riverton and discussed necessary changes. In the afternoon went with him in the carriage to Donaldsonville and saw Judge Sims about "delinquent taxes" erroneously entered against a part of the places purchased by Mr. Burnside from General Thomas. It is a mistake of the assessor.
