Clear - unseasonably cool.  Flat boat with hoop poles began delivering to Riverton, Donaldson, Clark, Conway and Orange Grove.  Went to Riverton sugar house with Mr. Bateman and discussed changes and work required.  Drove with him over much of his crop.  Spring cane, 200 acres, all very promising.  Of his fall cane he considers 100 acres very good and the balance, 200 acres, equal to say 150 acres of good.  Went to Clark sugar house and talked with Larken about changes and work there.  Nothing yet heard of Mr. Edwards or of Mr. Chiapella.  Wrote Mr. Gordon in reply.  Sent $10 to Times-Democrat for sufferers of cyclone in Mississippi.
