Mardi Gras. Cloudy - Pleasant. Went in morning to see Rex Procession at 11 am, with Mrs. Beirne and the children, at the Tilton's. Mrs. Montgomery and Miss Fanny Chotard there.
Went again at night with Miss Peronneau and children to see Procession of Comus. Immense crowd in streets all day and at night - but no disorder or rudeness or unpleasant incident of any kind.
